I’m pretty sure my stance on gay marriage is obvious at this point.

If it’s not, then I’ll let it be known. I don’t know why it’s an issue. Honestly, why should men and women be denied their happiness and love with their same sex partners? Have you guys read the Constitution? That part where they wrote that we all have the basic unalienable rights “to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” didn’t sound too homophobic to me. The ice caps won’t melt, World War 3 will not break out, and Gamma rays of rainbow destruction won’t start flying out or every newly married gay couple’s asses if they’re allowed to marry. Let. Them. Wed.

So I have the March 26th issue of the Marine Corps Times.

and there are a couple outcries of concern about that photo of the gay Marine embracing his partner during his homecoming…. Oh I do believe I have a few words to say about that… to many to post, so I’ll make a video of it.

Two Lesbians Raised A Baby And This Is What They Got

My mother is also a lesbian. Though my life hasn’t been QUITE as successful as this young man’s life has turned out, I believe that’s because I took a few different turns in life. But is my life comparatively worse than his? I think not. I think I’m doing successful in my own right because I am a United States Marine, 2nd generation Marine (after my mother, father and uncle), and 3rd generation Military Service member. I am physically fit, respectful and try my best to live with the Honor, Courage, and Commitment that you expect out of a Marine- or any respectable person worth anyone’s time for that matter. Sure, I have my flaws but show me a flawless person. Sure I fail at times but show me that one person that has never in his life disappointed a single person.

I get asked many times in the following order, two questions:

1. If your mother is a lesbian how were you born?

2. Is it weird having a lesbian mother?

The answers to these questions are quite simple. First off, how else can a mother form a child in the womb, regardless of sexual orientation, but to  either be artificially inseminated or to actually have sex? In this case, my mother was not always a lesbian. I am the son of TWO United States Marines.

The second answer is even more simple. No. The awkwardness or ‘weirdness’ of any situation is relative. If you grow up with all 10 fingers and 10 toes, is that weird to you? No, because that’s all you know. That’s all you’ve lived your life doing. The same concept applies to having a lesbian mother. It isn’t weird for me. It’s NORMAL for me. I know the social norm of the ‘Atomic Family’. I have never lived that life. Would I if I could? Still no, because my life experiences have made me who I am and I could not be the same person otherwise. I like where I am in life.

I’ve made many people very proud with the decisions I’ve made and have also made some angry, or sad, or any mix of emotions. I was never the best student in school, yet I’m educated. I tried college but it wasn’t for me at the time. Although now, during my tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan I plan on getting my associates degree.

You want to know the real kicker here? I’m also bisexual. It doesn’t have an effect whatsoever on my work ethic or anything really. Neither does my mother being a lesbian. For anyone to discriminate against wether or not a gay or lesbian couple should have the right to marry is messing with those certain inalienable rights were all blessed with at birth. You know, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, in case you forgot or in case our government has slandered it into a fur ball of misunderstanding for you.

“I’ve had enough of being a gay icon! I’ve had enough of all this hard work, because, since I came out, I keep getting all these parts, and my career’s taken off. I want a quiet life. I’m going back into the closet. But I can’t get back into the closet, because it’s absolutely jam-packed full of other actors.”
